DEIGHTON CUP 2016

Not long ago, The Social Concierge hosted their 7th Annual Deighton Cup event, which was estimated to be one of their biggest events of the year, as 4,000 attendees were expected to show up at Hastings Race Track, located in the beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia.

The Social Concierge has always had a selective taste for fashion, style, elegance, and comfort. There were so much to do at this event! By far, one of the best events I have attended in Vancouver!

The highlights of the event were consisted of beautifully dressed individuals ( men in suits, and women in dramatic and gorgeous derby hats ), the Style Stakes competition, fancy cocktails, super cars, cigars, and of course, the horse race. Although our focus was on the taste, and look of each attendee. Believe me! You couldn't have taken off your eyes from all the colours around !

The kindness of the judges was kindly appreciated as I was selected as one of the best dressed finalists of the Style Stakes fashion competition. For this event, I specifically decided to get a bit crafty and make my own derby hat. "Why?" you ask. Despite of their uniqueness and beauty, designer hats are sure pricy. And also, they are hard to look for. I also had a specific look ( a rose bud ) in mind that would have take hours to have it customized. It only took me 7 hours to create this hat. And also, believe it or not, it only cost me $20 to make it !! Yes, $20. I was very happy with the results!

And within the group of finalists above, we had two lucky winners who took over the stage, and were rewarded $500 by judges Crystal Carson, and Liz Bell ( Liz Bell International Modeling Agency ).

We can barely wait for next year's Deighton Cup event! Who is in with us?
